Otto Pentewa Miniature Kachina Doll

$250.00

Tiny kachina doll by highly sought after carver Otto Pentewa (1886–1961), unsigned but quite recognizable—this doll is perhaps a badger or Konan kachina, with the paw prints on its cheeks and the toothy snout, made from cottonwood root, pigment, and string at the top which would have held feathers in place. On the bottom of the feet are a painted line and stamped “25c”, circa 1930s, stands 1 ¾ inches tall.
