Hopi Swaying Man or Nagyayatotaka Kachina Doll, Cottonwood, paint, and feathers, 6 inches tall, early 1940s.

The Swaying Man kachina is thought to be a depiction of people from the Pueblos along the Rio Grande area. His function is to cause the corn to grow and ripen, and he sways along with the swaying corn stalks in the wind. There are scuff marks and areas where there is paint loss due to handling, most likely by little girls. A painted turquoise necklace adorns his neck.
