Qoqole Kachina Bearing Gifts

Hopi Qoqole Kachina, attributed to Jimmy Koots, circa 1950-60, carries a basket and a cradle doll kachina as gifts for children during the dance. The yellow face and the “buckskin” robe suggest that this kachina is from Second Mesa, the boots are detailed with checkered “beadwork” at the heels. Cottonwood, paint, yarn, string and feathers, 9 ½ inches tall.
