A small, “Route 66” style Longhair Kachina by well known Hopi carver Abbott Sakiestewa (1920 - 1982), 3 ½ inches tall, 1950s, stamped with the Hopi Sun Shield on the bottom along with the words “Long-Hair”

The Longhair Kachina often appears in groups in the Niman Ceremony in the Spring, and they sing songs that are uplifting and hopeful in nature; their purpose is to bring rain.
