The Mongwa, or Great Horned Owl Kachina, appears during Hopi ceremonies to punish the clowns for their mischief and bad behavior. and is one of the best known of the kachinas. This doll is made of cottonwood, paint and string, and is missing head feathers, and is 4 ¾ inches tall.

Harry Sakyesva (1921 - 1969) born in Hotevilla at Hopi, was most notably a Hopi Pueblo painter, but also carved kachina dolls and worked as a silversmith.
