This kachina’s purpose is to bring rain and encourage the blossoming of flowers at the Hopi Mesas. A singer of sweet songs, his beard symbolizes rain and clouds. Note the “checkerboard” design at the back heels of boot indicative of the carver Jimmy Koots. Circa 1940s, made of cottonwood, natural pigments, and string, 8 inches tall
