Sabinita Lopez Ortiz, a member of a well-known family of woodcarvers from Cordova, a tiny mountain village in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of Northern New Mexico, carves distinctively beautiful bultos from unpainted cottonwood and cedar in a style known as chip carving.
Our Lady of Sorrows with her radiant headdress stands 17 inches tall, 8 inches wide, upon a stand that is 4 ½ x 4 inches
