Carved wood crucifix—the hand-carved wooden Corpus is darkened by smoke to a beautiful dark patina; the loin cloth is painted white with black detail, the arms and legs are spotted with red; He is crowned with a handcut stippled and flamed tin halo, and is attached to a green painted wood cross inscribed with the acronym INRI (Latin Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum, or Jesus of Nazarene, King of the Jews).
